Opening of the 1st World Culture Festival in Hanoi 2025
On the evening of October 10, the Opening Ceremony of the First World Culture Festival in Hanoi 2025 took place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a World Heritage site.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and spoke at the event. Also attending the event were Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong; Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Council Pham Thi Thanh Mai; UNESCO Representative in Vietnam Jonathan Wallace Baker; along with representatives from foreign embassies in Vietnam and international artists.

According to the Prime Minister, culture is the ‘red thread’ that connects people to people, nations to nations, and connects the world; culture has no boundaries. Evaluating the first World Cultural Festival in 2025 as an event that connects the Vietnamese nation with nations around the world, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the presence of the delegates and noted that although ‘all beginnings are difficult,’ all parties involved have made great efforts in organizing the Festival, thereby bringing joy and cultural enjoyment of peoples around the world towards Vietnam and of Vietnam towards peoples and countries worldwide.
