Radiant ‘Flow of Excellence’ – Impressions from the opening night of HCMC International Tourism Fair 2025

On the night of September 3rd, the spectacular art program ‘Vietnam Night’ with the theme ‘Flow of Excellence’ kicked off the 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair 2025 (ITE HCMC 2025), organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, held impressively at the Thiskyhall Sala Conference Center (An Khanh Ward).

The leaders of the government, leaders of ministries, departments, sectors, and delegates performed a unique banquet-opening ritual – together pouring rice into an earthen pot, symbolizing prosperity, unity, and a wish for global prosperity.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc stated that as a country located in the lower Mekong River basin, generations of Vietnamese people have followed the river to arrive, relied on the river for living, and developed thanks to the river. The river is not only the lifeline of existence but also the source of culture and civilization; it is the memory, the history of the Vietnamese nation. The flow of rivers runs not only through economic life but also through community memory, representing a cultural flow that spans generations, being both gentle and resilient, while containing boundless strength, allowing people to overcome challenges and look towards the future.

Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Van Duoc, delivered the opening speech.

The program is also a welcoming greeting from Ho Chi Minh City to friends around the world, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized, come to Ho Chi Minh City to admire a city with a new appearance, new space, and new potential: a modern mega-city, the leading dynamic economic and financial center of the country with increasingly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure, strongly connecting regions and internationally. A mega-city that harmoniously gathers many cultures, where traditional identity intersects with a modern and creative lifestyle. A mega-city with a rich historical background, with mountains, forests, rivers, and seas, home to Vietnam’s first Ramsar coastal island area, and a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve of mangrove forests… A mega-city that is gradually becoming a regional event organization – MICE center, as well as an attractive, dynamic, and promising tourist destination.
