Hanoi stands out with 4 top awards from Tripadvisor
The world’s leading online travel platform, Tripadvisor, recently announced the Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations 2026 awards, with Hanoi continuing to make a strong impression by appearing in many important categories on a global scale, from top world destinations, culture, cuisine to solo travel.
Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations is a prestigious award aimed at honoring destinations that have received the highest ratings from the community over a 12-month period. Less than 1% of the 8 million destinations on this online platform are given this award, representing excellence in the travel sector.

This year, the capital Hanoi was honored in the following categories: Top 25 World’s Best Destinations (ranked 4th), Top 25 World’s Best Cultural Destinations (ranked 7th), Top 25 World’s Best Solo Travel Destinations (ranked 7th), and Top 25 World’s Best Food Destinations (ranked 11th). Being featured across multiple award categories demonstrates Hanoi’s comprehensive appeal, not only in terms of scenery but also in cultural depth, vibrant experiences, and its ability to meet global travel trends.

Alongside its cultural and historical value, cuisine is one of the most prominent factors attracting tourists to Hanoi. The capital’s cuisine is highly regarded for its sophistication, elegance, and focus on original flavors, highlighting the value of local ingredients. From street food in bustling markets to creative menus in restaurants, Hanoi’s cuisine offers visitors a complete journey of discovery, where each dish is not only a flavor but also a story about history, people, and local culture.

Bun cha – a signature culinary dish of the Capital
To experience the distinctive flavors of street food, visit the Old Quarter – a place where long-established eateries preserve the traditional tastes of this thousand-year-old cultural land. Here, you can enjoy enticing street dishes as well as unique local specialties such as pho, bun cha, La Vong grilled fish, steamed rice rolls, banh mi, fried spring rolls… Alongside these, the signature coffee culture offers many variations like egg coffee, salted coffee, and iced milk coffee – culinary experiences that have helped create a unique impression of the capital in the hearts of visitors.
